About
Tiger sharks are large, nomadic predators known for their distinctive dark stripes (more prominent in juveniles) and indiscriminate feeding habits. They are opportunistic hunters, consuming a wide variety of prey and are often found in coastal waters.

- 10-14 feet, up to 18 feet; 850-1400 lbs
- Colors
- Gray or bluish-gray dorsally, white or pale yellow ventrally, with dark stripes or spots
- Diet
- Highly varied; includes fish, crustaceans, sea turtles, marine mammals, seabirds, snakes, and carrion. Known to consume non-food items as well.
- Region
- Primarily found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, including the Atlantic coast from Massachusetts to Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific coast around Hawaii and Southern California.
