Landlocked salmon are freshwater-resident populations of Atlantic salmon that are unable to migrate to the ocean. They are streamlined fish with a bluish-silver body and dark spots along their back and sides. They exhibit similar behaviors to their anadromous counterparts, including upstream spawning migrations.
