About
Dolly Varden are char, closely related to salmon and trout. They are distinguished by their olive green to brown body with pale yellow or pink spots and lack the dark vermiculations (worm-like markings) on the back that are common in other trout species. They can be anadromous, spending part of their lives in freshwater and part in saltwater, or remain in freshwater their entire lives.
