Bull trout are a char species characterized by their elongated body, large head, and a prominent jaw extending past the posterior edge of the eye. They are opportunistic feeders and exhibit both resident and migratory life history strategies, with some populations remaining in their natal streams while others migrate to larger rivers, lakes, or even saltwater environments to mature.
